The treatment
Lip neutralization corrects dark, cool, or uneven lip pigment, then works toward the healed color you want.
The treatment works by
The pigment does not change how your skin makes melanin. What you heal to depends on your natural lip color, how the skin holds pigment, and the shade we planned together.
It is not a choice between correcting dark lips and getting the color you want. Correcting the underlying tones is how we work toward that color.
This procedure is not suitable if you:
If you are unsure, a consultation decides whether you are a candidate. The procedure is gender-neutral.

The procedure
Consultation and lip assessment, including what to expect
A color plan from the tones on your lips and the healed shade you want
Numbing cream before we begin, and again if you need it. No injections
Pigment placed with a rotary machine in the top layers of the lip
Aftercare instructions, and ointment to use at home
The appointment is 3–4 hours at most. Numbing cream is reapplied when you need it.
Healing
The color you leave with is not the healed color. It can look darker for a week or two, then bloom from week five through week twelve. A touch-up waits at least two months.
Swelling, if there is any, goes down. It is temporary. This is not filler.
A gentle scabbing process is finished. Do not pick or peel.
The lips can look darker for a week or two after the procedure. That patch of color passes.
Color starts to bloom from week five, and can keep settling through week twelve.

Prepare and aftercare
Healthy, well-prepared lips allow for smoother pigment implantation and better long-term results. Detailed aftercare is given again after treatment.
Questions
It is a specialized lip blush technique for darker pigment. Genetics, hormones, age, hyperpigmentation, chemical reactions, smoking, and other factors can darken the lips. It suits naturally pigmented lips, including brown, purple, blue-black, or grey undertones. More than one session is often needed. The healed color depends on your natural lip color, your skin, and how the pigment heals.
Lip blush mainly adds and evens color. Neutralization uses color theory to conceal darker, cooler, or uneven pigment, and works toward the healed shade you want. That shade might be a natural nude, soft pink, warm rose, or another color that suits the lips.
Neutralization is already working toward your healed color, not only lightening the lips. If the lips need correction first, that is part of the plan. A consult confirms the sequence before you book.
Swelling, if any, goes down within 24 hours. A gentle scabbing process is finished within 72 hours. The lips can look darker for a week or two. Color starts to bloom from week five and can keep settling through week twelve.
We use numbing cream, not injections, before we start, and we reapply it when you need it. The appointment is built around keeping you comfortable.
Pigment is implanted carefully with a rotary machine into the top layers of the lip. That changes how the color reads, so darker and cooler tones are less visible, and the result can last.
The appointment is 3–4 hours. It includes a consultation, time for the numbing cream, the procedure itself, and aftercare instructions with ointment before you leave.
We use a color wheel at the start of every session. The mix depends on the tones already on your lips and the healed color you want. It is artistry and color theory together, and it is different for every client.
Yes. Nothing is one size. The color follows your skin tone and the result you asked for, whether that is pink, red, coral, or a brighter lip. It is always based on what is already there and the goal.
Yes. It is gender-neutral. Men book it for their own preference, and the result does not have to be as bright as some clients choose.
Most clients start to see the color bloom from week five, and it can continue past week twelve. For a week or two after the procedure the lips may look darker before that bloom.
No. They are semi-permanent and fade gradually. After at least two sessions, with the right color and care, they can last at least three years. Book a color boost when the color starts to soften.

The result fades gradually because the lips are in the sun. Use a lip balm with SPF, and book a color boost when the darkness starts to show again.
A color boost is a later visit, at least a year after your last lip session with us. It restores vibrancy and helps the result last. It is not a touch-up, and it is not something you have to book every year. Come when you want the color deeper again.
Not always. How much melanin is in the lips, and the texture and thickness of the skin, all change the result. We recommend at least two sessions. The color you leave with is stronger than the healed color.
A history of smoking does not stop you from having the procedure. If you still smoke, you can still get a result, but it is less stable and can fade faster. Keep that in mind before you book.
It goes down within 24 hours. It is temporary. These are not fillers.
Yes. Genetics, a chemical reaction, or smoking can all be the cause. Darker lips often need more sessions before the change looks as bright as you want.
At least two: the first appointment and a touch-up. Skin does not all hold pigment the same way. If the lips are darker, or hold very little pigment, you may need three to five sessions, spaced over a year or two. If that is likely, we say so in the consultation.
Not yet. We are still looking for something stable for clients in that situation. We will say when it is ready.
Laser on dark lips is less stable here than neutralization, and it needs more maintenance. For the lips, we recommend neutralization.
We can recommend a lip emollient so the lips stay less dry before and after the procedure.
The first procedure is Ksh 22,000. Each touch-up is Ksh 10,000. A touch-up is session two, three, four, and so on, and each one waits at least two months. We recommend the first procedure and the first touch-up. If you need more than two sessions, that is discussed in the consultation. A visit more than a year later is a color boost, not a touch-up.
Lipstick only after 2 weeks.
